I studied Psychology in my bachelor’s degree, where I developed a strong foundation in experimental design and statistical analysis. While many were fascinated by personality theories, I was most drawn to conducting t-tests and calculating Pearson correlations to extract meaningful insights from data. That experience shaped my appreciation for evidence-based thinking, which data is objective, structured, and powerful when interpreted correctly.
After the bachelor’s course, I became a flight attendant after failing an interview for the Cadet Pilot Program. I thought I could learn part of the flight operation of a flight by being a flight attendant and spent the day-offs on studying for the private pilot licence examination. As soon as I felt I was ready to try again, COVID hit, and the program came to a halt. I decided to steer away from my dream career, unfortunately. I came across data science while wondering what else could interest me apart from flying. I studied again after work, learning the basics of Python and the foundation of data science, which eventually led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Predictive Analytics at Curtin University in Western Australia.
As a graduate (once again), I continue applying machine learning techniques on personal projects and Hackathons, always learning new skills and tools. I am never bored when it comes to solving problems with data.
